Attention is not desired

Attention is not desired

A Poem by The Ugly Rose

Are there no other women,

In this wretched group of mine?

Must I be the one pursued?

Beauty and divinity

Are not entirely desired

The lust the men posess

The image they see

The desires they need

The satisfaction they wish

For no one else seems to be

In their line of sight

Leave me be you wolves!

I wish not to be your meat

I have eyes for one

That one and only

There is no love for you

Divert your eyes

Wander away

I am devoted

I am in love

beauty and divinity ARE not...(small correction)

The last stanza KILLS! (that's a good thing)

I'd like to say that it must be hard to be beautiful and stared at all the time, but hey, maybe it is. :-)

Do pigs count? :) I like this warning. A slap in the face with the door for the wolf(ves) that waits beyond. Kudos.
