The sights of the lingering thoughts

The sights of the lingering thoughts

A Poem by The Ugly Rose

Those thoughts that linger

Amongst our lives

The gentle stutterings

Of the dust that coats the mind

The thick layer of soot

That plagues my view of us

The past happenings

That betrayed my wantings

The ring that holds my finger hostage

The promise to be forever

Now means as much as that fleeting thought

The miniscule man on your shoulder

Telling you not to continue

I wait

As the dust gathers around me

Creating a twister of confusion

The remanents of what I thought we were

The ancient history of the life I hoped for

Could I learn to trust

To give you my life

My faith

My passion

My hopes

My dreams

My future

Or will I be lost

To the darkness

Of the eternal slumber of loneliness

Let me know, when your brain wakes up
