Our Great Sacrifice

Our Great Sacrifice

A Poem by The Ugly Rose

Weathered hands

Of a young woman

Write the folds of history

So all may hear

Of their courage that night

When the invaders came

Bearing the weapons of torture

Spraying the eternal fire

Of hell and damnation

Across the laces

Of the nation we pride

Power of the suges

From the electric lines

That burn through those

W***e were left to die

Those who crawled from the depths

Of the devils grip

On their precious land.

A dark evening

And a sweeet blossom

Of Satan's flower

A light of hope

Erupts from the dire fight

For our cherished freedom

We are the immortal heroes

That took your place

Forever in the ground

Now the invaders

Are beside us

While you walk above

Loving the freedom

That we granted you

Through our Great Sacrifice
