A Greater Love

This is a poem dedicated to my Dad who passed in 1999.

Time passed slowly

Sitting in the waiting room

Waiting, more waiting, the worst part of all

Waiting for a sign from God

Or just waiting for everything to come crashing

I lost a mother, now a father

My whole world turned upside down

Everything I thought I had

Gone before I could blink

A man who gave me the world and more

Treated me like a princess

Daddy's little girl

I could never repay him for everything he's done

Quietly he parted from this world

His spirit lives on for those he loved

And those who loved him

I know he's in heaven with my mother

Together forever is what they are

Just as they should always be

I never got to tell him

All the things I wanted to say

How much he meant to me

Or just a simple "I love you"

At least now, he suffers no more

That is all that matters

He'll be in my heart always

Till the day I die

Nobody could love me more.
