Light of HopeA Poem by Daelmaronjust a poem, inspired by a great sense of hope that was given to me by a friend who came and shone through the darkness
I was hidden in a shroud
it consisted of shadows. The shadows of despair, of loneliness, and of sorrow. I was afraid to let go of it completely, as a measure of protection for myself. Then... then God shone a brilliant light into my life, in the form of the friend that I needed, so that I could keep pushing on. I was on the verge of ending it... ALL of it, with that final act. I shall not let that light fade and fall to the shadows, for I have had more than enough of those shadows... they hid me well for a time, when I thought I was all alone. But then I found a kindred soul, one that I latched onto like a lifesaver. Because I was afloat in a sea of despair, and I was helpless to do anything but wait, and wait some more for someone... ANYONE to throw me the rope and pull me out, out onto the safety of the vessel. Someone finally tossed me that Lifesaver, and pulled me aboard. shining the Light of Hope into my life once again. They in a single, simple act, have brought the very Hope and Faith I had lost... back into my life, and for that, I thank both them, and God. For without them and the Father... I would have lost everything that kept me who I was to the despair and finally given in...
