I am Afraid to Fly

Bird wants to fly, but can't.

A sparrow raps at my window,

Waking me up to go.

The bird,

pretty and feathered--

It did not understand.

I was locked on land.

They are acrobats,

I am a rat.

They swoop, dive, flutter, fly,

I scurry, leap, plop, die.

I cannot fly.

My wings never saw me,

 Fit to touch the sky.

Mine are pink and ugly,

Theirs are rainbow and pretty.

Mine are weak and withered,

Theirs are strong, undeterred. 

I will fall,

I won't fly.

I am afraid,

Afraid to fly.

This is the last poem I'll be putting up for the week because morning after I'm leaving for camp! *Wipes tear from eye* You'll be able to review this for my while I'm gone won't you?
Anywho, I saw the AWESOMEST bird this morning. It woke me up. I think it was a sparrow, but it was as big as a raven, and it had a white chest, a black band over its eyes, a black beak, and a light blue back. I only saw this bird once before in my neighborhood, and I thought I was crazy when I saw it cause I only caught a brief glimpse. But it's AWESOME! Usually a wood dove wakes me up in the morning, if at all. This was a nice treat! :D Blue is my favorite color. We only usually get robins or cardinals around here, so....
I made this poem after in deep thought at night about the bird. (and about how I wish I could fly, but I am afraid of heights) :')

Inspiring! I simply love this poem. It was a light read. The second and third section was a little bit rough but it got the message across. Nice write.
