Embraced

Embraced

A Poem by Drakonem

Inexhaustibly, indignantly, we plead for answers to questions a millionfold. We assume a servile stance, singing lame laments of metaphysics and inexorably chaining us to false fate; our feverish fervor festers into the forlorn, and the vacuous void vociferates to the wise, “Hark, for death delivers you from life’s lamentations.” Ay, the eternal exit calls, candid yet callous, for those that might find respite in its elegant embrace.
