Hope, Love, Laughter

A piece i wrote for a college competetion.

When God put us on the earth,

he was happy to see,

the planet teeming with life,

and everything as peaceful as could be.

But there was something missing,

he could see it in our eyes,

the world seemed so joyful,

yet filled with sadness and lies.

So he decided to make a change,

and grant us three more things,

something to set us apart,

from other animals and beings.

Hope came first,

a medicine to our sorrow,

to help us realise,

there's always a better tommorow.

Love came next,

the most powerful emotion.

God meant for all of us,

to share it and show our devotion.

And then came laughter,

like a beacon of light,

to help purge our darkest days,

and restore our sight.

So that's the story,

something to remember forever and after,

when God gave us three great gifts,

hope, love, laughter.
