Mi Salieri

Mi Salieri

A Poem by DrSprinkz73

On that day you said everyone found a way to find you

What is my present? A soul imprinted tattoo;

To show the things my heart can make

Even as they cause my life to quake

You will never know the unpursued

Or shake the fear that made frightened hearts subdue

I know naught of envious jealousy

Only of the thousand broken promises you wove for me

What was the point of  new beginning?

Where we still paused and reverted to sinning?

I shall not wonder what you thought

Only accept the pain our decisions wrought.

Learn not to say things only believed in the moment

So you don't pretend to notice where her heart went

I slowly prayed you'd forget my ear

Those declarations I no longer allow myself to hear

Embedded into me as the lessons that should rule

You're      just     another

eternal carving of a forgotten heroes duel.
