A Poem by Blake McDuffie

I saw the city burning

The flames scorched the sky

And as I walked through the streets

Ashes fell like snow

Time stood still

But the carousel still spun

The music eerie in the silence

I hoped on and looked

But I was still alone

Short and perfect. Oh, I love these lines:

Time stood still
But the carousel still spun
The music eerie in the silence

You have a great voice and your imagery is beautiful. Keep writing, I'd love to read more like this. Flora.
