million daysA Poem by Tim SchulzJump starting long dormant writing with some cryptic thinking aloud. A minor experiment in word mechanics as well. Not sure I like the last stanza much. Work in progress.we used to finish each others' sentences, you and I a million days ago, so it now seems. daily distances now grow and widen, rivers that subvert the dreams
we had as youngsters; life's potential, you and I unlocked, unexamined, breathed to breathing. we arced like graceful birds across the sky born to love and like all lovers needing no meaning
for lives lived together to flash and glisten in the light, bringing new lives to fruit, new souls to race and grow. new children playing in the sun, the rain, eyes bright and singing songs that we both have now ceased to know
or that surely come less easily now to our lips and minds as a million days pass through sleep's unguarded gate. distances daily widen, grow vast as empires, and leave no guiding signs as you and I pray, unknown now to each other, that it has not yet become too late. © 2011 Tim SchulzReviews
