Battlement of War

Battlement of War

A Poem by Lune
"

Life is just another war and depression could send one into to surrendering, better known as suicide.

"
In dark times my own knife finds its way to my throat
In silent surrender,
The white flag,
The easy way out.

It’s so tempting to leave it all behind.
But that is not the way my lights will burn out

I will not surrender
I will not hang the white flag and take my own life

I will die in battle
I will die fighting with victory in my sight

I will die by your side
My name will be known,
I will be the sacrifice,
I will be the hero.

It’s so tempting,
So ever tempting to leave it all behind.
But that is not the way my lights will burn out
I will die a warrior’s death.

The knife shines near me
The darkness creeps into me
The white flag is in my hand,
But death will have to wait.

I will be victorious
To die in battle is my fate
I will use this knife to win this war

Author's Note

Lune
I wrote this a while ago and revised it before I posted it here. It is much darker than when I remember writing it.
