The Beast of the nightA Poem by Symphonic_SunflowersJust some ramblingsNight falls and the calls of the wild are heard a lot clearly, no longer a whisper in the rays of the sun. Creeping into the lives of the living the smoke lifts and sweeps dreamily underneath the window sill. Twisting and turning in its misty and elegant form, to blow into the noses of unsuspecting victims. Coughing and spluttering, trying to get rid of the infection but the mortals bodies are no match for this mission. Retching and writhing to get it out of your system, but there’s no luck it’s clung to your soul. The beast of the night turns its self on, now it controls you, are the fault, youre its victim, its prize and your master, you’ll do his bidding and wishing for nightmares and dreams. You’ll be its successor, its second option if killed. You’re its safety net just in case you start to spill. It’ll tell you its secrets, you’ll know everything, but only because killing is lonely. You're its voice in its head, his friend; his accomplice and its prodigy and your only friend. It feels your pain for you two are alike; you’ve been stalked with sullen pride. You’ve both taken a life; you know what it’s like, the life on the inside. © 2014 Symphonic_Sunflowers |
