Warriors 'R' Us

Warriors 'R' Us

A Poem by Kavern Laurenitis

I am a warrior,
and yes I will kill.
I am a soldier
because I have the will.

A warrior means not to kill,
but to stand up for
and defend their mill.

Win or loss,
it matters not.
What matters
is what you taught.

Teach the warrior
To stand up for a friend,
Or merely have you a hand to lend.

Teach the warrior
The ways of war,
Or the ways of love.

The lover is also a warrior,
fighting from the heart
to keep balance above.

To be a soldier
is not a war fought,
but a defender
of all we've got.

The soldier helps the oppressed,
fights for their rights.
They sacrifice life for them,
safegarding with all their might.

When you see a soldier,
don't spit in their direction,
for you are a warrior too;
you are but a subtle reflection.
