Mother and DaughterA Poem by DeeDee KaulitzFor my daughter AbigailDaughter, I remember the day I brought you home, 20 hours of labor, trouble, but you survived- I watched your tiny body, so fragile, so frail, In your tiny infant jail. I held you in my arms and wept with joy, A mother’s love, I thought you would die, But that wasn’t God’s ploy. I watched you grow stronger day by day, Watched you wander on unsteady legs, Run, frolic, and play. My baby, you have grown so much before my eyes- Every time I see you, I want to cry, I weep with joy at what you have done, I feel my heart fill with love. The bond betwixt mother and child- Is something that is joyful and makes me smile, The bond betwixt mother and daughter- Is something special and something stronger. I love you my baby Who is now almost grown, I’ll always be with you- No matter where you go. © 2008 DeeDee KaulitzReviews
