Unsubsidized Pain

Unsubsidized Pain

A Poem by DorothyParker

Untamed cringe

Fiddling with pain.

Your eyes crave love's spikes,

The blindness that follows.

Unwavering winds blow

The swing squeaks loud memories.

It's darker when alley is empty.

Two dots joined by wishes

Lavished in tenement broils.

Together is never too late.
