a distant embrace

a distant embrace

A Poem by DorothyParker

My eyes rest
upon your face
where moon petals
glide around,
where star kissed wishes
lift you up,
and bring my arms
around your waist.
Don't fret my love
don't be in pain.
We were,
we are,
we will be again.
