~KNOCKING ON MY HEART~ BY:DORI L.M. APRIL 21,2008

A Poem by Dori Maschke
"

This is a poem of loving friends and letting them live in my heart.

"

I prayed to GOD last night to send a friend to me in the morning light,

I woke to the sound of someone knocking at my door.

I thanked the Father up above for sending you my way,

When I got to the door you were not there.

But still I heard the knocking and knelt to pray once more,

For you were knowing at my heart to let you live in side.

I was looking for a way to fix this poem, the last line should read,~For you were "knocking" at my heart to let you live in side.~
Thank you Phil Oz O'fee for pointing that out to me.

This is a refreshingly honest and tender piece. You have encapsulated a moment of tender loving heartfelt thought and turned it into a loving composition. I am reminded of this passage;

1 John 4:11-12 (The Message)

11-12My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us-perfect love!

Note: In the last line, should the word 'knowing' be 'knocking'?
