TodayA Poem by Dord
Can today get any happier
I saw my son and daughter Both dressed very dapper Today was going to be great I put them in the car Buckled them in well Then played a song about Mars Today was going to be great Happiness filled the air We got to the house I put my boy in his old high chair Today was going to be great It was late, and the kids were sleeping I was awake all night Making sure nothing was creeping Today was going to be great Then came a car rolling I saw it very briefly the explosion was hot enough to turn my eyes to molten Today was going to be great I wake up covered in dust I see the house is gone Noting is remaining, not even the rust Today was going to be great I can't find my wife I can't find my kids eventually I did In the ditch behind the garage, three bodies lay Faces unrecognizable, waiting to decay Today was going to be great
