Vibrantly Lived

Vibrantly Lived

A Poem by Emily
"

1 Kings 19:11-12

"
At the end of it all, our story will be a simple one,
riddled with adventure and the thrill of a life well lived

For she lived with hurricane eyes
and he fell in love with the way her soul bubbled up like a fountain,
spilling out of her onto the ground as she walked,
washing the pavement with the shine of
glorious possibilities.

And he lived with campfire eyes,
and she fell in love with the way his soul kindled warmly like a flame,
drawing humanity to its comfort as he listened,
conducting energy and strength with the promise of
glorious possibilities.

For they lived for a God with love in His eyes,
And they both fell in love with the way He whispered to them gently,
not in the hurricane,
not in the fire,
but in a still, small voice.

And the echoes of this Voice are written for us in the clouds at sunrise,
at every sunrise
forever.

"Beloveds,
You are not alone.

Creation is a map,
and you are called to explore even its darkest horizons,
filling the empty spaces with love and fire and glorious possibilities."

Terrific! Loved it! I will say however that I wish there was some sort of transition between the first two lines and the next stanza. Love the parallelism - and actually, concerning that, I would have thought it to be even more effective if you tried to get that stanza about God in a more parallel form to the ones prior. Great writing. Keep it up!

"Called to explore even its darkest horizons" is a line i really related with. It indeed opens glorious possibilties as you write in the last line of the poem.
I loved the words you used - words that created a very strong image - I could almost see what you wrote in my head.
Glad you shared Emily :)

This is a great interpretation of scripture and I believe you have captured the sentiment of the writer. You have conjured so many beautiful images here of how powerful love is but to truly connect with the greatest love we need to listen to the "still, small voice". A beautiful write!

"creation is a map" and they found a great path toward love, with love and in love...

that small voice speaks loudly without speaking loudly.
