What to Do

What to Do

A Poem by YouxBelongxWithxMe
"

What's a girl to do?

"

He's the one who has

a special place in my heart

his face is the joyous light

that makes me smile when I'm down

You came from nowhere,

you came by surprise

from a classroom full of hopes and dreams

that I thought I left behind

and when the class bell rings,

you catch my eye again

but where do I begin?

You befriended him before I even knew

the faces, the names of both of you

I still care deeply

for that boy you call "friend"

but I find myself rambling about you

What'd a girl to do?

He's a bit quirky,

he's a bit insane

but overall,

he's some kind of wonderful

I can only hope for him

to be called mine

You, with your freckles face,

with your metal mouth smile

and your manners increased

I wonder if my smile shows

as I walk through the already-opened

door

Oh, now, now,

What's a girl to do?

Madame, this is most inspired piece! I would say that lines such as "and your manners increased." In addition I might suggest that you review certain thematic elements of grammar in the piece. I refer to "He's a bit quirky" being capitalized and "he's a bit insane" not. I do understand that they are part of the same conjoined sentence built in, but it causes me as a reader to break from the piece, which is otherwise enthralling.

Indeed, sir.

I'm happy, I have a nice life. Great friends; funny family; good attitude. But I'm also a teenager, so I'm not always taken seriously. I'm just seen as a kid, rather than being treated like a regular .. more..
