MY PROMISE

MY PROMISE

A Poem by Harmony-Lee

Made to you dear Dad. At sixteen
Years of age.
Please never again hurt yourself." from beside my bed you plead.
Red eyes, fists curled, your shrunken frame I noticed, I nodded and agreed.
Over the years, it's been so hard.
Many obstacles in life have tested our pact.
I hold our bond very close to my heart. My promise to
Survive at every cost.
Every year that passes, for you, I've lived and not lost.
