The Fired Town

The Fired Town

A Chapter by Stu. T.H.

Glittering, flashing, darting flares,
They bounce up and down the summer fields,
A midnight sight when the sun is absent,
Their whole village felt a warmth over-abundant,
Rushed, it razed through the paper walls,
Tearing down people, to and fro
But there was no cry.
The swamp of red, orange and yellow,
It becomes another shooting star
Drifted away, only after a disaster,
But this one, caused it.
And still, people prayed to said star unknowingly
And so one's heart beats desperately
