Sonnet: Cousin from the Countryside

Sonnet: Cousin from the Countryside

A Poem by Stu. T.H.

Plump plates fill my empty stomach,
Whilst your gaze fills my heart's desires,
Thoughts entangled and weaved into a vortex,
This country girl whom I admired,
Empty nights when the moon is absent,
I fill it with the image of that girl so sincere,
Whilst heeding the pleas of the paddy that lament,
Bending to whose whims, a painting to refer,
A simple image, carved into the mind,
As country groove plays their lyre,
Now my heart and mind do not align,
This night, when will I retire?
Wishful, I hope to see her again,
A cousin who lives only in her wonderland.
