My Darling Magpies -- For You, Fellow Poets

My Darling Magpies -- For You, Fellow Poets

A Poem by Stu. T.H.
"

Darlings ~ It's time to take your occasional dose of compliments.

"
My Darling Magpies

My dearest darlings, how were your rhymes?
Did penning them take so much of your time?
Darlings, please remember to take care of your health,
It's more important than how many books you can put on a shelf,

My dearest darlings, how did you spend your time?
There are better ways to kill time than counting dimes,
Darlings, please remember there are more valuables than just capital,
Capital can buy goods but not happiness, nor can they chase sorrow,

My dearest darlings, how are you?
My day has been treating me fairly, I hope it is the same for you too,
For all the yearnings in the world aren't enough to buy true satisfaction,
So please do not curse yourself for downtime, nor mental taxations,

Because my dearest darlings, I love you,
Not romantically of course, but I hope you feel the same for me too,
Because everyday when I wake up to your sweetening rhymes,
I feel rejuvenated, and as if there were meanings to 'time',

My dearest poets, my darling magpies,
You are the birds that rhyme to punish my deadly nights,
You are the sight that replaces the Moonless nights,
And are the light that chases away all my frights,

My dearest poets, you mustn't stop writing,
Even if critics and reflections are indeed frightening,
Please listen to the prose and poems you've been making,
Listen to your hearts and the songs that they are singing,

Are they not beautiful?

My darling magpies, you must never stop flying,
Even if there comes a day I am on my deathbed, dying,
I would still yearn for your momentary presence,
For you chirp the songs that satiate my yearnings,

And they are, indeed, beautiful.

The way you emphasized the importance of time, health, and true happiness is amazing. Your metaphor of comparing capital to inner satisfaction was clever and thought provoking. It made me reflect on what truly matters in life. Your poem is a reminder to embrace our creativity and not let fear hold us back. I could really feel the emotions behind each line.
Thank you.
A darling magpie.

A lovely read, which emphasizes what is important in life and what isn’t. Sadly we live in times where money has become King. Your stanzas here are endearing to us creative writers, offering us encouragement. Uplifting words and sentiment. I enjoyed the read Stu. Thank you.

You are welcome and thank you for caring about us writers and poets.
This is a wonderfully penned piece, writing on what life really is about. We must prioritize our happiness, not financial status, our health is much more important than any passion we may have, even writing! I love how you created your rhymes, and you tried to incorporate magpies into every stanza! I have to ask, why magpies? Out of all birds, is there something about magpies that you found interesting? Anyways, I definitely enjoyed reading this lovely poem!

Somehow I missed this major poetic effort which has been both a pleasure to read and edjumacationalistic
I have sympathy for those unfortunate Magpies who suffer the fate of being killed and eaten but perhaps their flight-filled spirit brightens the life cycle of whichever captors.
Thankyou Donny, Dan and Leon with hopes sent your way that you enjoy the rest of your (?) day

Thank you for your kind words and humor, author living lavender. I am glad you enjoyed it.
How do I call someone a "mother hen" while making it sound like the compliment it's meant to be? That's the impression you've given me since I've gotten to know you through our talks and your work. As a fellow writer with a "Haiku License" [ ;D ] I really enjoy your work, and the time and effort you put into your very presence here with others. This poem is such a lovely reminder that there are many of us who want to look out for the new writers. To remind them that even when they have to deal with "big bad monsters" they'll be alright, and they just need to keep flapping their wings.

Thanks for the poem, Leon. I'm glad to be a magpie.

Huh.... not a sentence I thought I'd ever say.

Not to startle you, darlings, but did you know that roast magpies do taste amazingly delicious ~ ? So when I say you're a "catch" or you look "appetizing", ahaha... I am not joking.

(Just kidding~)
