Gratitude (1)

A Poem by Stu. T.H.
"

We often forget how how fortunate we are. Sheltered... from social media.

"
Each time I leave this site,
Cease from being with fellow writers,
Who are thoughtful and polite,
To rejoin the common life,
And having to endure the horrid sight--
Of Modern Social Media,
Seeing the worst of wolves,
Wearing angel halos,
And dance their most horrific rituals (Tiktok),
While offering their fellowmen,
To the great inner devils,
To satiate their egos,
I cringe, and play possum,
While setting another personal reminder,
For myself, to remember--
How damn lucky I am to be here,
Instead.

Sadly social media has been responsible for much damage, although it has its good points too. I like WC, I have many writer friends here, but it is not immune from the oddball or two. I enjoyed my visit Stu. Your lines well conveyed.
