Left-behind Mills

Left-behind Mills

A Poem by Stu. T.H.
"

Inspired by the Semester-Project that is kicking me in the guts. Am I a masochist for taking inspiration from it?

"
Fields of grains,
Stretching over the horizons,
The sight bring pains,
With all the run-down mills, now abandoned,
The grains have lost their golden hue,
And while the sun, falls, to create an orange stew,
Clouds, shades, take over the tops of the mills,
And I, stand alone, reminiscing amongst these hills,
I stand, solemnly still,
Amongst these, abandoned mills.

Author's Note

Stu. T.H.
Inspired by Naked Economics by Charles Wheelan, page 48: "Anyone who has ever driven through New England has seen the abandoned, or underutilized mills that are monuments to the days when America still manufactured things like textiles and shoes."
(I imagined grain mills instead, but who cares, I like grains better)

I have to finish the book and write my reports on it. In today. I have 300+ pages left unread. I am so dead. Send help.
