Huh. This is interesting. The reactions it elicits in me as I read it is also interesting. At first, it give me a wistful feeling, longing for the imagery of the free clouds above me. Then it makes me think. "Nor blossoming tears." Science teaches us that clouds will sooner turn into rain, a downpour even. Doesn't that imply tears will somehow follow -- maybe after a while, when we're not looking. Are they still the same clouds when they've mixed with others and turned heavy enough to rain?
In the end is the person also just envious of an image, an outside perspective from far away? Envy is a familiar friend we can't help but welcome with longing stares into the sky where the clouds roam free.
I think it's beautiful, the talent you have to paint so many images, string together so many stories in the freedom of your readers' brains with so little words. Thank you for sharing. That was a wonderful experience to read.

Islands in the sky. I envy them too. Drifting along in their own time. Cotton white and billowing. No threat of rain. I like the visuals you gave with this senryu. Nicely presented.

Now I wonder if they are elevated by their ignorance, arrogance or have they attained enlightenment in existence. Who knows~
