Sonnet: After-school CyclingA Poem by Stu. T.H.
The smell of burned leaves is as cigarette,
Not helping much, the wind's whiskers, Even though such smog I much detest, The way it caresses my lips makes it a great kisser, While cycling around, I found heavens bound, Laying on roofs while face down, what a teaser, As I watch leaves turn without a sound, I realized wind is too, a lady pleaser, Viewing the sun from a distant angle, I saw in her my late fantasies, Then I remembered the lasses I praised to be angels, The thought brings me back to great dynasties, It's a great time to be cycling around, this season, I just wish it didn't have to remind me of other lives where I'm no peasant. - Stu.
