The Unknown

The Unknown

A Poem by Donald Foggitt

In an instant our eyes met

In an instant I knew what Id get

Something I know that I would love

Like a gift that comes from up above

You make me wonder all day long

Sometimes I think that I am wrong

For feeling this way in my heart

The feelings may just never start

But still you draw me down each day

I keep in words I want to say

Im just scared you run away

That you will never want to stay

Theres really not much I can do

Just watch you do things the way you do

Its just so sad to know that I

Can never ever be by your side

I wish somehow I could make you see

Just how much you mean to me

But those feeling will never show

Cause if they do, I will never, ever

Be able to let you go...

Wanting, needing and hoping. First step.
"I wish somehow I could make you see
Just how much you mean to me
But those feeling will never show
Cause if they do, I will never, ever
Be able to let you go..."
I wonder how often we gave up on something before the opportunity was dead? Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
