Thank you for the beautiful weather. I couldn't ask for anything better.
Growing up here was the best. I was very blessed, but things change as the years go by.
It hurts to say goodbye.
California has been great, but it's time for a move to a new state.
No matter where I may roam, California will always be my home.
Puts me in mind of some of my wife's cousins, who grew up in the San Diego area, but now, because of the high cost of living, have moved to Idaho. Apparently the Golden State is incurring a number of difficulties which have caused something of an exodus. Really sorry to see it.
Altogether, I was stationed in that state for about 8 years, and I loved it. The weather was wonderful, but also the amazing sights. Everyone should take a ride down the Pacific Coast Highway before they die and also visit the giant redwoods. The freshest produce in the world! Of all the places I've lived, I've never found so many great restaurants as in California. Remembering back, there was a time when people from my part of the world flocked there for work. Now my heart breaks to think that the cost of living is driving people out. Here's hoping that California will find a way to cure its ills.

I've always wanted to go there but recently the news from there has been all bad. Sky high taxes, homelessness, violence...yet someday I will go. I watch videos from there all the time. :)

Everything you said is correct. It is very expensive here, and it's unbelievable how many homeless. It does have very good things about it though, the weather is the best!
I have never been there Donna, but it certainly seems to me that California will always have that pull of home for you. No matter where you go, you will always think of it as home. I feel that way about the County I lived in with my mum and dad and siblings.

I hope you do get to visit California some day! Thanks!
I love Cali so so much, and I think it gets too much hate. You described it so wonderfully, but indeed, I have heard it's so crowded, and the traffic is crazy. But I love it anyway.

In the past ten years, I've watched a ton of people move away from California for the same reasons you mention in your reply to Gee. I happen to be in a bubble here, where my rent is still ridiculously low (under $1K!), but if I were to lose this place for some reason, I would not be able to afford to live in California anymore. To me, that would be tragic & it's a bummer to me, to read this, since I relate so much to your perspectives, being in many of the same places where I've also grown up & lived (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
