Thank you for the beautiful weather. I couldn't ask for anything better.
Growing up here was the best. I was very blessed, but things change as the years go by.
It hurts to say goodbye.
California has been great, but it's time for a move to a new state.
No matter where I may roam, California will always be my home.
I grew up in Nor Cal then moved to Utah for 20 years... it just never felt like home, so I ended up coming back. I certainly understand that feeling... home is where the roots are.
It's said that the place where you were born and happily raised is what makes you who you are. Obviously California has gifted you a sense of adventure... but.. beautiful enough to beckon you home. What a fine poem... thank you for sharing.
This was a smiling read for me, California born but left age five and never returned until this year to visit. Absolutely one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Not the place I would or will call home.
"Oh, they tell me I was born there
But I really don't remember." (3DN)
I have lived in about 13 different states, but there is one place I still think of as home (the place I grew up and one day left.) Thanks for the post- carl
This was nice. It is nice to have a place you call home. I am originally from the east coast and always considered that home, even though I have lived in Texas for quite some time. But a few years ago the last of my family moved to a different state and now I am not sure it is still home. I will probably never go there again. But...I guess I can still call it that. Your poem was fun

Your piece is such a great exposition of life. As our situation changes, so does our abode, but we never quite lose our sense of where we came from and where we belong. You captured that brilliantly here.
