This has been a rough year so far for all of us. A virus called COVID-19/Coronavirus is spreading fast throughout the world, and we are losing many. We must stay at home, "Shelter in Place."
We have to keep our distance from others, and if we need to get groceries, we have to keep our distance from others and wear a face mask to protect ourselves and others.
The schools are closed. Most can't go to work. Businesses are suffering. This is still far from over. During all of this, I have learned a few things about myself, and life.
Now that I am at home all of the time, I spend more time with my Mom. We do jigsaw puzzles, we work in the garden and talk. It's nice to spend time with her. I believe it has brought us closer.
I have also learned that some people just don't care what is going on in the world and refuse to stay home. They don't realize that they are making it harder on everyone, and the virus will keep spreading.
The last thing I have learned is to be more patient, and know that before this virus came along, I had a good life, well, I still do, I just mean I was free to go anywhere I wanted, shopping, to a concert, or a friend's house, or whatever. I even had a trip planned for tomorrow to spend time with my kids and grandkids, but last week the airlines cancelled my flight.
I believe that everything happens for a reason, and this will not last forever. Hopefully we can all go back to our normal lives, but for now, I'm enjoying the time I'm spending with my Mom
Love this! Thank you for showing us the pandemic climate without having an axe to grind or a point to make. This is just a simple case of showing life how it is & you do that with great details. I noticed that people who never communicate on social media, beyond posting impersonal memes, these people started writing down their actual feelings & sharing on a level unheard-of for social media, so bored out of their minds being on lockdown. I kinda loved that part of it. So I loved how you showed us your way of loving this mess, too! You are so talented at showing a slice of life vignette that reflects a bigger meaning (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

How fortunate you are to be able to send extra time with your mom! I enjoyed this post. ~Sharon

I am still working. Night manager of a overnight pharmacy. I do have more time to write. No grandchildren to pick-up at the bus-stop. I hope you are doing well dear Donne. I hope too. We can find normal again.

Certainly is a wakeup call for the world.
The good thing is, we can all look at our lives and see what we can change for the better.
Plus, I think the rest will do us good, the planet is looking better already.

Thanks Paul for the review! Yes, it does seem to be getting better slowly!
Hello Donna. For all the negatives, there are the positives too. Like you I have seen those. More time for those under the same roof. Time to appreciate the freedom of what I had before and appreciate what I took for granted.. Have learned more about myself and have slowed down and acquired patience. Yes, reflecting on the good behaviour and unselfish acts by many while being dumbfounded at the thoughtlessness of the minority. Hoping it won't be around for too long. Fingers crossed for a vaccine. Keep safe.

Well said Chris! Thanks for review! Always enjoy hearing from you!
Well said. I think that if more people would choose to think like you do things will end up working out relatively okay. Eventually.
It's important to have a positive attitude through this. Our collective mental health is at serious risk and will continue to be for at least the short term future. Reconnecting with family is one way to very effectively do that... given that the relationship is healthy anyway.
And again, excellent work.
