Special Dog

I wrote this about my dog.

     I will never forget the first time our eyes met.

I knew you were the one for me.

I took care of you and loved you.

You gave me so much love back.

     We had such good times together,

playing ball at the park, hide and go seek,

you always found me.

     You made me laugh, you made me so happy,

You were always right by my side,

when I was sad, you cheered me up,

when I was down, you lifted me up.

     We took long walks together,

and rides in the car.

Whatever we did, we had fun.

     Every night at bedtime,

I sing you a song, and you

fall fast asleep.

     After 11 beautiful years together,

how am I supposed to live without you now?

It's not going to be easy,

but I know that you had a great, happy life,

and you will always be in my heart!

We have had several rescue dogs throughout our life, and it's interesting to compare their personalities.
One feature common to all of them, however, is their loyalty and the fun they give us. There is always some sorrow when they "cross the rainbow bridge", but our comparative lifespans means this is inevitable.
We are life members of a re-homing Trust that gives us replacements as lifelong carers, which ensures that should the situation be reversed,we know the pets will be properly cared for.

Norman, I appreciate your review. That is wonderful that you have had rescue dogs. I just got so attached to my dog, which made losing her so much harder. I feel lost without her.

I know how you feel. My cat died 3 years ago, broke my heart. She was just a little sweet friend who loved sitting on my lap.

I deeply miss her.

Every time we lose one of our extremely special family members it tears a huge chunk out of our hearts
We are on our fifth special family member now and growing up, we always had dogs.
Can't imagine life without one of these wonderful companions

our pets become family...and their lifespan is much too short...they do give us so much in a short time...and then such great memories.
