GOD~FAMILY~TRADITION

GOD~FAMILY~TRADITION

A Poem by Donna

The most important thing in my family has
always been,
"La Tradizione Do Famiglia Divina."
(God~Family~Tradition.)

We are Catholic and we believe.
Family is everything to us.
We carry our tradition down from
generation to generation.

We are proud of who we are and where
we come from, just as everyone should
be proud of their own culture.

One should be proud of their traditions. One who has pride in their family traditions and pastimes, should definitely have pride in themselves. Hey keep the tradition going. Thanks for sharing your love in family traditions

I can understand the meaning, but I know all to well the way family has been for a lot of people... Broken families, Depression and other illness that makes people forget their heritage and roles... So I do agree everyone should be proud of who they are and proud of family... Thanks for sharing

I appreciate that Ghost!
Be proud of your family and more importantly; be happy that you and your family believe in God. What a wonderful gift it is to know Him! Wonderful poem that tells a story and reveals the audience a little bit more about you and who you are! It is wonderful when writers do this!
Also i have a poetry competition that i would love for you to enter! It ends in a couple days so i hope to see a submission from you! Keep writing! :)

Wow! I think this the nicest review ever. Thank you so much for your kind words.
Yes, and why shouldn't you be proud of your family heritage! I wish more religious people would just be proud to be what they are, instead of fighting others or trying to rake up support! Your poem is straight forward and bold. Two things though. In the first line should there be a 'thing' or something, after important. And perhaps the last stanza should have 4 lines like the others . (Unless, of course you mean 3 to be significant?) Well done poem.

I appreciate that Aunt Astri.
I'm sort of lucky.
I'm mixed religion.
My mother would drag me down to the chapel most weeks.
Though I must admit, it took me years to realise my mum was making the sign of the cross.
Still not religious myself.
But I like people who are.

Thank you for sharing that Paul!
I love how proud you are of your culture and your traditions. Being sure of something like faith is a great thing.
