We All Belong Here!

We All Belong Here!

A Poem by Donna

I hear people making remarks about others. "They need to go back to there country." Take a look where your family comes from, I bet its another country.
"They need to speak English if they want to be here." Is that a law? I don't think so.

My Grandfather never spoke English and he lived here just fine. Everyone here has every right to be here, just as you do.
I was born here, but my family wasn't.
Should they have to go back where they came from? No!

I bet if you do some research about your family background, most have came from other countries.

We all have a right to be here and live in peace. No hating, no mean remarks, no prejudice. We are all different people from different countries. We look and speak different, but we are all the same. We just want to live our lives.

We all came from somewhere different.
People just have short memories.
Most people I know just want to get on with their dreams.
