Always Listen to your Parents

Always Listen to your Parents

A Story by Donna
"

This is a true story that happened when I was 15 years old. I hope you will take a couple minutes to read this! Its important!

"
I have a best friend named Lisa and we are both 15 years old. We spend every second we can with each other.
Lisa's parents are so cool, they left Lisa do whatever she wants, and come home anytime she wants.
Now my parents, well they are strict! I have to be home by 10 pm and they have to know where I am at all times. That's so unfair! The makes me so mad!
One day my Mom drove us to the mall. She would pick us up in 2 hours.
So Lisa and I walked the mall as we talk, but we were also checking out the cute boys. After awhile we sat down on a bench in the middle of the mall. Two guys approached us, they were older, maybe 18 or 19 years old. They were talking to Lisa.
Lisa is very outgoing and confident and I am more shy and not so confident.
The guys invited us over to there house tonight. Lisa of course accepted the invitation. I already knew that I wouldn't be able to go. My parents would never say yes.
As soon as my Mom picked us up, I asked her if I could go, and I would come home early. Mom said, "No," I was so mad!
I went to my room and cried.
That evening Lisa called me to tell me she was going to the guys house. I felt like such a loser not being able to go. My parents don't want me to have any fun.
The next day as we walked to school, Lisa was very quiet. We walked in silence for awhile, then she started crying. She told me the two guys raped her, and I couldn't tell anyone. I promised her that I wouldn't tell anyone. We both tried to just forget it happened.
That night as I lay in bed, I couldn't help but think about it.. If I was there I would of been raped too. I was scared and so glad I wasn't there.
Weeks went by and we didn't talk about it anymore. Lisa didn't feel well so her Mom took her to the doctor. Lisa was pregnant!
We sat in her room talking about it when the door flew open and her Dad stood there. He started yelling at Lisa. He wanted to know who was responsible for this, who was the father, but she didn't know. It was two strangers. Her Dad asked me to leave.
Lisa had an abortion. She told me that it was the worst experience of her life. Lisa didn't come back to school anymore and we drifted apart.
I went to my parents and thanked them!

Some small escapes happened with me many times as my parents were always with me. Still I thank them for keeping me away from those mistakes and guilt and endless sorry for not obeying them as they were forced to be rude. But I'm happy to understand that parents are always caring for us and no alternative for the characters "parents" in this universe.
Thanks for writing this!

Let me be the first to say this is a truly important piece, and I hope you don't mind but I shared with the readership of my facebook page as well (please don't sew me). You really touched me here, and it's one of the many things that makes me love what time I had with my own mother (yes I'm a mama's boy at heart) seem even more vital, knowing that you feel the same about your own, too.

Thank you so much, Donna, for sharing with us.
