Tim

This is a true story about my dear friend Tim.

I will never forget when I met Him
I was 16 and he was 21
Such a handsome guy
We became great friends
He was like a brother to me
Tim had issues like most people do
He told me that when he was a boy
His father committed suicide
He shot himself in the head
Tim said that once time he
Tried committing suicide by taking pills
But he got scared and called for help
Thank God
Tim had many relationships
But they didn't last long
This made him very depressed
Years went by and I got married
Tim met someone a little older than himself and was getting married.
I was so happy for him
The wedding was beautiful
I never seen Tim so happy
I saw him a few times since the wedding
Then it was like he just disappeared
I couldn't get a hold of him
Years have gone by and that's not
Like him to not be in touch
I wrote letters to his family
But never got a response
I started searching the internet
Then one day I found a obituary
With his name
His name is common so it couldn't be him
Then his sister sent me a message
On facebook that read, "Donna, Tim's
Marriage ended in divorce. He eventually met someone else but again that
Didn't last. Tim was very depressed and shot himself in the head."
Just like his father did.

I am very sorry about your friend. Depression can be so overwhelming and that feeling of not seeing a light at the end will often get the best of people. One wonders if the thought of his father pushed him over the edge. Thank you for sharing this story.

Thank you. I do believe that thoughts of his father pushed over the edge. Especially since he did it in the same way. He was such a wonderful, beautiful person. That is a picture of him and I. I was 16 there. He is truly missed. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

It is something how certain people and events stay with us for a lifetime. He was a life cut short way too soon. Your poem is a lovely way of honoring him.
