Just Drive

Just Drive

A Poem by Donna May Smith

Just drive ask no questions.  Let that petal hit

the floor.  Let the miles zoom by.  Get that speed

up.  Roll down the windows.  Crank up the music.

This soul needs a break from this time.  Just drive

by there at my side.  Put that petal down and let

it roar out of town.  Take me on a drive out of this place

Ease the tension from my mind.  Just drive

so that this can melt away.  Dissolve until all

that is left is you and me.  This old pick up

truck and us.  Where once again I am me.  Just

drive and ask me no questions.  Just be at my side

Its a blast of energy...
A looming dream getting off the running train...
Careless carefree yet caring...

Oh what a free-spriited writing.. how this could come straight from my heart.. nothing like a ride in an old pick up truck with the petal to the metal.. this was a fun writing.. short and sweet .. but more can be said as those drives should be as uncomplicated as possible!!! Just go.. don't care where.. just want the wind flowing through my hair.. her the music or the birds the sweetest joy I have ever heard!!! Thank you for sharing!!! =)
