Seaside Dreams ღ KKD ღ

A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews aka Gold Pen Ghost

Seaside Dreams

I stand at shores edge
the waves calmly lapping
When memories come
of time we were sharing

We walked the oceans shore
holding hands and making memories
Little did I know how quickly
you would cross forbidden boundaries

The ocean is the place
where my solitude can be found
it is only here that I feel
I'm standing on solid ground

I vividly remember
all the dreams made
As I stand here today
I watch all promises fade

Questions with no answers
Actions ripping a heart
One hiding... One needing answers
One choosing to depart

One stands with tears
with no place to hide
The dreams are gone
like the receding tide

One without a soul
One who fights to redeem
But never can be lost
that of her Seaside Dreams

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
