Hero ღ KKD ღ
A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews aka Gold Pen Ghost
Hero
I come here night after night Always seeing the same faces Am I looking for love in all the wrong places
I sit at my usual table and order my usual drink Here Sir, as the waitress sets it down and I thank her with a wink
The room is dimly lit with candles on each table but I see sitting at the bar alone the most breathtaking damsel
Her hair is like spun silk and dark as midnight Her shape is the finest under her dress skin tight
Her legs are firm and shapely and stretch for miles She is the type of woman behind every man's smiles
Dare I approach this goddess of the night with the hopes that a love so true could ignite
With conviction in my heart if nothing ventured nothing gained I rise to my feet with the beat of my heart uncontained
As the top of her glass her finger traces I wonder am I looking for love in all the wrong places
Am I missing my life's chance as I turn to go Left always wondering if I could be her hero
