I love my enemies
for it takes two to fight
But I can dislike my enemies actions
for today it is still my right
The future of this land
that I hold so very dear
at best is in question
and so much I fear
But the fat lady did sing
the majority has spoken
I just pray America's spirit
will not be forever broken
For the choice of my support
I was called a racist bigot
When race played no part
when I marked my ticket
Those who voted
because of the color of his skin
and dared to call me racist
are the ones that carry the sin.
This man who now
is to lead this grand nation
prior to his entry
Well I really had no indication
No track record
deemed any public mention
What was I to go by
in voting in this election
I would never vote party
or stand silent on that day
for those who wasted or did not vote
well now you have nothing to say
It always comes down
to lesser of two evils
for what is a campaigne promise
are empty words given to the people
For those who did not vote
I shout "SHAME ON YOU"
I'll never throw in the towel
for my country my duty I will do.
A person of color leading America
how awesome this is to see
It shows how far we have risen
from the ashes of slavery
But this nite I watched the returns announced
and discovered Oh My precious Saviour
It was all about race
as I watched all the behavior
This saddenes me so
something so vital was upon race
I thought we had come further
for this I find total disgrace
This man I must find
within to support
for me its a hard struggle
but, one I can not abort
For United we must be
in taking each brothers hand
standing shoulder to shoulder
across this awesome land.
Oh this man I so fear
and the unknown that surrounds
I fear the America we love
is about to crumble down
But my duty to my country
is to somehow rally behind
This new leader that was chosen
God PLEASE guide him during this time

Billy Graham's Prayer
For Our Nation
Heavenly Father,
we come before you today
to ask your forgiveness
and to seek your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says,
'Woe to those who call evil good,
but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium
and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor
and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness
and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn
and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists
and called it justifiable.
We have neglected
to discipline our children
and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power
and called it politics.
We have coveted
our neighbor's possessions
and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air
with profanity and pornography
and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed
the time-honored values of our forefathers
and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God,
and know our hearts today;
cleanse us from every sin
and Set us free.
Amen!'
All comments are welcome, but I do ask that you keep it
respectful as I feel I have presented my heart felt feelings and
views in a respectful manner to all sides.
Somehow this country has to find a way
unite again and become a strong nation
If Obama can do this then the right choice
was made. Only time will tell. I just pray
we have enough time.
God Bless our Beautiful America
Our Precious Military
Our New Leaders
My Fellow Citizens

Holy Smackamoly!
You have truly touched upon a very sad fact of life in the United States of America, racism still exists.
I am very happy for Obama, but I do not feel America's people are grown up enough to except this change. I too feel a lot of people on either side voted not for either candidate's credentials, but because of color, or lack there of. I could go on forever, so I will say this: This is my favorite poem of yours I have read to date. It is really a heartfelt piece that the reader can really pick up on.Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us and keep up the great work!

A very inspiring piece, but keep in mind that this does not rest upon the shoulders of just one man (black or white). One man alone did not get us into this mess and one man alone will not save us from it. We all must work together or falter together.
I for one believe the country did the right thing in voting for Obama, of coarse are all welcome their opinion, it's what makes this country great... it's a shame when people get ridiculed for excersing their rights... I must say i admire you taking our stand on your beliefs.
Hi Donna, I followed your link tonight and am very impressed by your approach here.
When it is all said, and the 'fat lady has sung', for good or bad, unity is the only course.
I am proud to say I voted at the embassy in Amsterdam, but like so many others
my choice is not sleeping in the white house tonight.
Now that I know where you are, I'll be keeping better track, I just registered :)
Have a blessed night my friend, continued sucess with your golden pen!
hugs, Sandi
We have a long road to walk before us all, and like so many that have already reviewed this wonderful write, I too pray that history will record that we were perhaps wrong in our feelings of our 44th President, as they stand for this moment, at least for myself anyway. I so agree with you though that somehow we have to find a way to support what plans he has laid before us in the name of change. Only time will tell the history that will be written. We are to accept what is before us now, I pray that he will learn to accept that most American Citizens would want to feel assured that the flag of our great nation is worth a moment to stand to salute its awesome history as it has flown so proudly and is a symbol to so many nations. So much fear to overcome in my thinking, but I am an American, and America will always have my support and love.
You have my friend done just as you have stated. You have done yourself proud yet once again with this awesome write from your heart and many other hearts I am sure are in total agreement.
Well expressed, without fear or favor. I can't really comment on the election as I do not profess to know the full story.
But from Ireland, I wish you joy and hope my friend. Time alone will tell.
I think the truest comment you had was "lesser of two evils"....I wouldnt have known what to do in reality. When the candidates stop bad mouthing each other, and tell me what their plans are going to be to HELP our country, them maybe I'll put an opinion in. When I joined the Army back in 1969, it stung me that I could be chosen to go overseas to fight a war that I didnt start(which I did) but at the time, I couldnt vote. To this day, as soon as a slate of candidates is chosen, the first thing their rivals do is comb their background, dig up anything that LOOKS like dirt, and throw shots at each other. To me, that isnt being a politician....they are all to me, like school yard kids that stare at each other and say "nya nya".......sorry, I'm sure I'll catch hellfor this one, but like you said, I DO have a right to voice it at least!
God bless you ((((((((((((((((((((((((Donna))))))))))))))))))))))))) for listening

True words, my dear friend. Three hours away and by the time it got to me it was pretty much over. I voted the way I that I saw best. It wasn't for this man that now stands in power. I hope and pray that he can over come what everyone fears will be in the heart of every American.
