A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews aka Gold Pen Ghost

The Lamb of God

This this vessel on which I sailed
I never seemed to fit
Placing me on a flowing river
On a life's journey unlit

I drifted thru the dark
Going where forces would pull
At the end of each day
Left holding a cup not quite full

Each day feeling a hunger
Not knowing why
Each night upon a pillow
Unknowing tears I would cry

The unrest of this journey
In a world I felt no place
With no joy in my heart
And a tear stained face

Knowing there must be more
Something I must be missing
I looked to the heavens asking
Why for me there is no blessing

This life's journey
Is not an unsurmountable task
Little did I know
All I had to do was ask

We are all the Lamb of God
Yes even me.. Just ask yourself
Did he who made the Lamb
Make thee?
