Midnight Fantasy ღ KKD ღ
A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews aka Gold Pen Ghost
The ticking clock is the only sound I hear
as I awake in the night
I pull the strewn satin sheet
about me tight
It is a place I seek
of peace and solitude
that is always interrupted
by these dreams so rude
With my sheet in tow to the edge
of the water is where I flee
to watch the moon beams
dance upon the ripples so free
The only company
I have in the night
are the little fire flies
in driftful flight
I pray of this loneliness
for me to be set free
but alas I find myself
as a lost ship at sea.
I have no port at which to dock
no loved one awaiting my return
will this desire inside
ever cease to burn
Here I stand in the dark of night
and as always alone
with out that special someone ...
a love to claim as my own.
I know that when the time arrives
that I will cease to be
the only fears I have is that
it will be met by only me.
