The Good Ole Days My Grandchildren Gather Round And hear about the days of old For once I am gone Its a story never again to be told   Its back in a time ... My time When I was but a tyke just like you And penny candy was only a penny A movie and popcorn was just a buck or two   Playing meant sunshine and fresh air Catching fire flies in a jar Playing kick ball with friends And believing in a lucky falling star   The 4th of July parade Going to the county fair Eating French fries with vinegar And popping bubbles in the air   Sunday's at Grandma's With chicken and all the fix'ns Homemade pies for desert It was all finger lick'n   Take'n a bath in a wash tub For there was no plumbing Just a hand pump on the porch One jerk and water was a come'n   We didn't have x-box or ipod Felt lucky to have one TV And a plastic film of blue red and green Which made it color for us to see   What I have lived you never will But that is God's Way For you will have your stories For your grandchildren one day   So for now as this story ends Before my memories become but a haze I wanted to share with each of you Some of My Good Ole Days   Dedicated to six of the most awesome Grandchildren God ever saw fit to bless One woman's life with.
