QUAKING ASPENSA Poem by Donna LorenzA walk in Autumn
QUAKING ASPENS The quivering Aspens as they shimmered Like gold dollars from a tree. Too busy to care about Either you or me. They were so very beautiful. So far above the sea. A place called Quaking Aspens. Lovely nest for them to be. Went there once, a friend and I, The quivering Aspens just to see The Aspens as they shimmered. That was the year of ninety three. Autumn comes but once a year T’s just a passing season, To go just to see them shine Quaking Aspens, that’s the reason. Golden dollars, just dangling from a tree They really never did take notice What our Autumn dreams might be, As rare a find as an Indian Lotus. I wish you could see with me The leaves so very bright. Their Autumn hues glimmering In a cool pale moon light.
