Hello Sailor!

Hello Sailor!

A Poem by Donna Lorenz
"

I like the cut of your jib!

"

Hello Sailor!

I like the cut of your Jib!

.

From fore topmast head to the Jib boom

My triangular sail does blow!

Before the lovely's board your ship

A sailing I too go!

.

My ship is rather rusty

Barnacles do line her crusty hull,

But boy can she travel,

Keep up with you quite well!

.

My hull is full of baggage

Tried to throw it overboard

But someone brought it back to me

So in the hull it is stored.

.

My props a little rusty,

Know I can fix things up.

Just put all your money

In this handy little cup.

.

The Tiller is my mainstay,

Have cared for it so well.

Put olive oil on it just last week

And now it’s running swell!

.

My portholes are no longer shining.

The world looks so dark and dim.

I wonder if I washed them

Would it bring some sunlight in?

.

The Starboard light is broken

I turned the Port light so it glows.

Don’t have a sense of humor,

As everybody knows!

.

Nice you are so poetic,

Words streaming from your Lips.

Best be very careful

Lest on your gangplank lovely's slip.
