Anna's HummingbirdsA Poem by Donna LorenzThe View from my back yard.Anna’s Hummingbirds . When I look out of my windows It is such a pure delight To see Anna’s hummingbirds As they come and go in flight. . Their nectar hangs near my windows. They impatiently do wait To see me put out fresh bottles. They Worry if I’m running late! . They depend on us all winter, In the summer, not so much. December, January and February We, they have come to trust. . There are many kinds of Hummingbirds. Anna’s birds are medium small. Females with green iridescent backs With Golden flanks and all. . The males of course most beautiful To win her heart so fair! His white circled eyes, the rosy crown, With the gorget extending out from there. . At times they look through my window Wings fluttering in mid air. Are they curious how I live or Is something wrong out there? . They are one of Gods little creatures He has given us to enjoy. I will love those rapid little hearts As they come, drink and deploy!
