I called her my number one friend, she called me her first friend.
I was reminded just yesterday that I had written this for a nice young lady I met here about three years ago. She suffered from what we might call an identity crisis of sorts and we chatted back and forth for several weeks. I called her my number one friend, she called me her first friend.
She asked me for some words of encouragement when she was feeling down and I don't remember exactly what I said to her, but she was so upset by my words that she said "...boy was i wrong about you." and blocked me from her page.
Anyway, I wrote this poem for her because she was my number one friend.
You'll always be my number one, no matter how many girls you say are yours! lol I know it hurts, but people are weird and you will never know how they will react. Just stay the same ol' you and she'll come back, or maybe not. She is missing out on a lot though, if she doesn't. You use to be my number one... but I had to leave. Now you are back on my number one and you'll never leave. Be thankful for the friends that stay there for you, encourage you and will always understand what you say, without blocking you because they are upset. You are my HERO. Love your writing and hope you become a success, if there is anything I can do let me know. You know who I am and I'll do anything to help your writing along. K
I liked this one. Its difficult sometimes to made the right choice. It can be scary and sometimes I think we all feel alone. Great poem. (I hope your friend comes around. If not trust me you'll make lots of new ones. You're a great person.)
The poem had an even deeper complexity knowing the story behind it. There is a certain sadness, tempered so beautifully with hope and determination. Wonderful write.
Wow, your lovely poem poses a lot of questions we can ponder but may never know the answers to in this lifetime. I love poems that make me think.
I have always found you to be very encouraging and thoughtful. Perhaps your friend misunderstood what you were trying to convey, or maybe she was just not ready to hear what you had to say to her. Certain words can mean different things to different people, and even one person may see them differently depending on his/her mood at the time. I believe that sometimes, we are only meant to communicate with certain people for a reason or a season....then both move on once the need is met. Still, the parting can be confusing and/or painful, especially when left with a question like, "What did I say that caused her to react like that?"
I personally, appreciate your writes and your friendship very much. Thanks for sharing this poem.

I am just a writer!
At least I think I am.
If I can only convince someone else of that, I will be a happy writer.
But until then, I'm just a writer.
