Fallen Angels

Fallen Angels

A Poem by Donkey!

He’s fallen before, once and twice, maybe soon he’ll fall thrice. Won’t stay up, won’t keep up, always in the down always behind. So an angel is sent from above to keep this kid on his toes, but his eyes are closed... can’t see this angel in the sky. Never opened his heart, but always pouring blood. Tearing his skin apart, adding to this flood. So this angel is slain, wings wither and fade, the kid’s pride remains as he wipes his blade. But his God is persistent and sends yet another, ignores his resistance and helping like a father. As the boy trudges along, ears are plugged he can’t hear the angel’s song... can’t feel his tug. The kid’s heart is too cold, no love can pierce it. But the angel is too bold and he’s not about to leave it. Still the angel is pushed aside, left the kid dark and lonely. With the devil he resides, feeling everything but free. God sends his one last hope, swiftly this angel descends. Traveling slow, maybe on time, prays that this kid will understand, but the angel abruptly stops... hovering over his corpse. Too late, lack of speed, only to see him still bleed. Why did he look away? Why didn’t he turn back? Only to live till today for the devil’s attack. Holding a gun in hand, blood flowing rapidly, the angel could only stand as he looked so blindly. Dropping to his knees because he failed this soul, felt his heart freeze and began takin the toll. The spirits of three, willing to help him, only to have fell... leaving God grim. So why did he look away and never turn back? Only to live till today for the devil’s final attack.

My poems are from when I was in High School. They're old and I was young, and probably could've been written with a better flow, so bear with me. I myself am currently enlisted in the Marine Corps.. more..
